Hi all,
Last week myself and fellow forum member Jason Nicholls (V1 Images) had something of a last minute venture to Cyprus. The trip wasn’t actually centred around aviation photography, so we didn’t spend too much time around airports, but here’s a random selection of shots!
These were taken on a terribly backlit McKenzie Beach at Larnaca. Note the moon under the nose wheel of the MYT 320! 🙂

I waded out around 40 metres into the water with my 350D to get this!

My personal favourite of the day!

And a few from VIE:

And on the way back to LHR:
LCY as we were approaching LHR’s 27R. This is a poor shot in terms of quality because the amount of processing I had to do in terms of colour and contrast to make it look even half acceptable was ridiculous, but I do like the angle!

And two from the ground at LHR:

Thanks for an awesome time, Jase. T’was good fun!
Thanks for looking!

I see in your pic of LCY there moving the SWISS RJ to the Redbull strip;) lucky catch .
Oh yeah Did not notice that thanks for that I now see where the Red Bull strip was, Looks like they made the runway on an old runway?

Brilliant shots Paul, they are all great images but I do like the Transaero jet and the tough of you up to your neck in oggin trying to get the framing just right.
All the best

I was at least partly sensible, I left the more expensive camera and lens (30D and 50-500) on the beach and shot with the ‘cheap’ one! As for beers and snapping… I’m always up for that! Are you planning on wandering down this neck of the woods at some point?
Thanks for your kind words, all!
Paul
My aim is/was to get down to MAN with the Canon XL-2 this year and I’ve been trying to find a suitable day since April. The plan was to go to the AVP and see Neil and his Trident then do some filming/snapping, take in a few beers and buy some models before heading back to GLA to edit a nice dvd together of the day’s movements. 😀
I’m about to go off into the wilds of Argyll on a 6 week location shoot of the next series of ‘Raven’ for CBBC, so it’s not looking likely I’ll make it down this year, what with the ever diminishing weather and lighting conditions…
So next spring probably ?

So you wandered into the sea armed with an expensive digital camera ? Confirmed as the nutter I’ve always imagined you to be ! 😉
We must do some beers n’ snapping together soon !! 😀

That is very brave going into the sea with an expensive camera…but at lesat it paid off without any problems!:D
That shot of London City is quite fantastic Paul; although it would look even better if it was taken at a busier time when all the stands are taken up with a/c! The office block across from the apron would seem to be a good spot for some photography!
