I wonder what they’re doing to it. Note the cranes and screen around the ship.

Maybe they’re making a zoo like Noah and now taking the food onboard

Hmmm… Zoo??? Noah’s Ark???

Not a bad idea actually! If so, I guess that means
an opportunity of a lifetime for them to add more speciments to it that
have deep attachments to zoo’s such as Noah’s ark.

Don’t you think that’s a good idea???

I’ve taken a better look now. These are buildings, no screen around it. Probably just taking stuff aboard or offboard. Maybe they’re making a zoo like Noah and now taking the food onboard. THAT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA!

They would need some major refitting and modification to make this into a zoo dude, there is a minimum standard that they must uphold in order to be considered to become a zoo. Animal welfare, rights etc.

Needs big holes to lower in the escalators and the Olympic-sized swimming pool.

The Varyag has not moved. It is still at the same place that they moored her. The containers are a dead giveaway as well as the yellow cranes to the left (used to lift standard ISO containers).

Beside, the big red lifting crane in the background (with chinese words Dailian Shipyard)
is also a clue. The drydocks are on that sides.

Probably taking a look at its construction (cutting, etc) its not like they can do anything else to it.

Wanna bet, Vympel?

Hypothesis: How’s about as a “real live sea-going experiemental speciment” for a first hand feel of flat deck landing and take off’s for their flat deck pilots to be and for studies for their naval engineering department while the wheels of their home-mades are humming and going strong???

Assumptions can and has been proven very very wrong sometimes…

Before it becomes a casino, they’ll have to paint it. Maybe they’re just painting it and putting some stuff inside with the crane. I’ve seen paint jobs on frigates and it’s not hard to cover that, but painting this large beast takes some more effort.
Maybe some welding, then you have to cover the piece, because you have to avoid wind (and by that way oxigen) from getting in, hence the screen.
