Lazer beams

I live very close to the bombing range, near Holbeach, lincs, the range is at Gedney Drove end.
You can stand on the Sea defence wall, and take photos of the a/c strafing the target(A ship) or droppingg bombs on it.
There are warning signs stating it’s dangerous to take photos, as most of the modern a/c use lazer sighting.
How wide is the beam?,no doubt dangerouse if taking head on, but side ways on?.
Woulld like to know if possible.
