LBA Matters

A couple of points which I would appreciate an answer to
1. FCA552F shown as arriving from Luton Monday am. What’s the F suffix stand for. Is it a Freight Flight – FCA dont operate from LBA on a Monday.
2. Are Jet2 an aircraft short at LBA. Last two days a departure each afternoon has been delayed at least 2 hours – appears to have to wait for a later scheduled inbound flight for the aircraft.

The Flightline 146 has just this minute flown past my window, and seems to be going out to DUS this evening.

Anyone know if this is a permenant move from MAN, or just for the weekend?

HI

I’ve been up to LBA today and Rumour has it that Eastern Airways are looking at a LBA-Cardiff service

This might have something to do with Eastern having a spare BAe Jetstream 41 aircraft at the end off this month. This is the aircraft that currently operates the Norwich – Manchester service that has just been axed due to competition from Flybe’s new NOR-MAN low cost service

Anyone like to add comment????

The last I heard was this route was on the cards but although the airline has enough spare aircraft, there is a shortage of crews at LBA to facilitate expansion at the moment.

Re: the SZG operating into MAN yesterday. G-STRJ (MAN based 733) went tech on 30th at EMA while doing base training. To minimise delays, the LBA based 73G (G-STRH) positioned to MAN to operate the MAN-SZG flight, and then back into LBA (bussing pax to MAN) so it would be ready to operated the LBA-RHO a few hours behind schedule

Ah thanks for that.

Why did it fly to LBA instead of MAN? Was it because of a/c shortages, so they had the aircraft at LBA to fly to RHO ASAP?

Anyone know what’s going on with that ever reliable airline Astraeus at LBA?

It appears they had a flight arriving from Salzburg this morning…

AEU444 SALZBURG 1050 LANDED 10:48

And they then used this aircraft on the Rhodes flight…

AEU933 RHODES 0800 DEPARTED 11:55

Which departed almost 4 hours late. Is this just the other 73G returning from maintenance? Seems an odd way to run things!

Thank goodness the 737-700 is arriving, the 737-300 was a bit mistake last year and these fuel stops in Faro must cost the airline a bit, and also an annoyance to passengers.
737-700 will be a sucess, a nice modern place, will rarely go tech unlike last years 737-300.

LBArules write: When do the Astraeus flights to Corfu and Verona begin?

Next weekend for the Verona flight while Corfu starts on Friday 26TH Due to Thomas cook putting it on sale so late. Next year the CFU service will run all season.

By the way the Based AEU B737-700NG is due delivery to the LBA base this evening, intime for the over night Las Palmas Service. This should stop the required fuel stop at faro. Which the B737-300 has to make.

Why do AEU keep positioning in different aircraft, surely it would be cheaper just to keep one in place until the 737NG comes. However i have no complaints 🙂

1. Didn’t see the the MD87.

2. Would guess it was a 733 to be honest, one 757 went to Faro, would imagine the other was going to Palma.

3. Still G-STRI.

Hi

Can anyone comfirm or update the following that was meant to be happening with jet2.com today at its LBA base and any info on the AEU ops.

1, Did the Nordic regional MD87 SE-RBA turn up for the start of its 2 month lease??

2, Did one off the B757-200 operate the New LBA- Dusseldorf route that started tonight as planned or did a B737-300 go??

3.Has the Astreaus B737-700NG turned up at LBA or we still been operated by that B737-300 G-STRJ in flybe colours??
