I have noticed that LBA have announced that they will be flying to Egypt on behalf of AEU. The flight will depart every Thursday from the 5th October for 6 weeks. Might only be for 6 weeks but its better than nothing.

LBA Reaches Brand New Egyptian Heights with Peltours
30 March 2006

Independent operator Peltours, have today announced that they are to commence a brand new flight to the Egyptian airport of Taba this coming winter from Leeds Bradford Airport. The flight, which will be operated by Astraeus Airlines, will depart every Thursday from the 5th October for 6 weeks and offers a perfect opportunity for those wanting to grab some winter sun in an area never before served from Yorkshire’s Premier Airport.

Peltours has been tailor making quality holidays since 1920 and was one of the first companies to offer tours of the Holyland. In addition, the company is also a member of the Association of Independent Tour Operators which is an exclusive organisation that works to ensure that its members are conforming to a strict code of conduct, providing a high quality level of service to its clients and work in an ethical manner.

Taba is the gateway to Taba Heights, one of Egypt’s newest and relaxing holiday resorts, which is perfect for those seeking sunshine, relaxation and watersports. Surrounded by the red of the mountains, Taba is one of the most picturesque resorts on the Red Sea. With numerous secluded bays, coves and lagoons waiting to be discovered and shallow reefs accessible straight from the beach, it is the ideal place to learn to dive or snorkel. With a courtesy shuttle direct from the hotels to Waterworld, the local PADI Gold Palm water-sports and diving centre, the underwater world is your oyster.

Darren Panto, Sales & Marketing Director for Peltours said: “As a specialist, we believe that our employees must have excellent knowledge of all the resorts and hotels we offer. With this in mind, all our staff have first hand knowledge of our product. If we do not know the answer to a query, we will endeavour to find someone who does.”

“There are top quality hotels in Taba Heights, including the already popular Marriott Beach Resort Taba Heights, and the low prices offer unbeatable value for money. With average temperatures of around 27 degrees in October, this is just too good to miss.”

Hopefuly Banjul maybe a possibility too, Astreaus seem to be regular visitors to The Gambia and i hope more exciting new destinations are yet to come.
Don’t AEU 737NGs fly to Deer Lake in the USA.

Hi

regarding LBA-SSH this is a defininte route – please see comments I received from Panorama.

I am pleased to advise that the LBA – SSH flight will be loaded into the
system shortly, all departments are running behind schedule due to a staff
shortage. Our aviation department are aiming to get this route loaded by
the end of business today. If they are not successful this will be
completed tomorrow.

regards,
Fandango

That is excellent news if AEU are part basing a second aircraft to operate SSH and MIR, let’s hope that TCP can also be extended into next summer!

I still haven’t seen any confirmation that SSH flights are operating personally….

Hi

The New Sunday Monastir flights for next summer 07 which are set to be operated by Nouvelair Tunisie has change according to the several sources because Astraeus are looking at part basing a second aircraft at LBA over the weekends next summer season.

The out-bound flight to Monastir will now in fact operate on a Saturday evening, Leaveing LBA at around 18:10ish and then returns on a Sunday morning. Thus this will be in time to operate the New Sharm El Sheikh flights.

The TCP flights only operate in shoulder season so some of the summer routes will have stopped by then. Plans only call for 1 73G to be based there this summer. Things are looking fairly good for the aircraft to remain based there for the winter as well.

Could Astraeus be basing 2 aircraft at Leeds? They maybe operating the Tunisia flights for Thomas Cook as well

A Nouvelair A320 is flying to Monastir so I doubt they would base another aircraft for that. Could see a 2 aircraft base in the future though :).

They could have a 737-300 for shorter routes Malaga, Palma, Ibiza, Reus and the 737-700 for Tenerife, Larnaca and Sharm El Sheik.

Well Thomsonfly won’t be doing it. There could be the chance of MyTravel operating it, but an A321 couldnt handle SSH from LBA.
Im guessing Astreaus with the 737 NG.

Hi

Panorama Holidays New Summer 2007 brocher is listing a NEW weekly Leeds/Bradford – Egypt Sharm El Sheikh charter Flight.

The flights Departs LBA @ 11:15 and Returns at 23:15 every Sunday from May 6th 2007. No flight codes are given. So by the looks off things its operated by an LBA based Aircraft

That is absolutely fantastic news if true, anyone know why it’s not on there website?

Can’t see it been Astraeus’ current based aircraft to be honest, they already operate AGP and LCA on a Sunday, can’t see them dropping those. Maybe another carrier will position in? Or Astraeus bring in another a/c? I think we have a strong chance of AEU expansion!

5-6 hours with no IFE ouch
I must say Astreaus could fit the 737s with IFE then they will get the money back through headphone rental etc
