Comet,

I had much more fun with the DHC-7 olperated on behalf of sabena, a few years ago.

When I will trace the photographs of the aircraft,I will post them on the forum.

I was wondering what aircraft are coming into use that will replace the 146/RJ 100s ? The main demand from LCY is how quiet (and low noise footprint) a replacement aircraft will be. The 146 types pass over my house on the approach and they actually make less noise (to my ears) that the turbo props. Dash 8, SAABs and Dorniers. I believe that a few business jets are now certified for use there too.

Hense their name the WisperJet

Pablo you have very good taste! I just love flying from London City on VLM, and the drop down steep approach is superb in the Fokker 50. I hope I get chance to fly from there again sometime.

Having said that, some smaller types (e.g. CRJ) don’t have certification to operate to LCY.

Avro RJ100 is the biggest plane certified.

Just out of interest does anyone know what is the largest a/c to get in and out of here ?

I think it’s most likely to be the 146. Or in terms of length, possibly the Q400? But then, I’m not sure even if the Q400 is longer than the 146!

Great photos, and great to see from a different airport to usual.

A very nice backdrop to all photos there with the London Skyline.

Nice set of shots, think this must be the first LCY ‘local’ spotter to post pics from there! Interesting to see the different side to one of London’s airports. Particularly like that last shot of the sunset, the full-size version must be a real cracker!

Erm.. I have a x10 zoom and applied about 50-60%. To get to the holding point requires almost full zoom.

Great pics! Did you need much zoom to catch them across the water?
