Recently, I have been researching the background of two Lodestars, both listed in USCAR as owned by Trio Concerts in the mid-1960s (c/n 2087 and c/n 2505).
C/n 2087 was listed as Trio Concerts Inc (USCAR 7/65), moving to Ashes & Sand (USCAR 1/66) and c/n 2505 was listed as Trio Concerts Inc (USCAR 1/66). In both cases, USCAR gives the previous owner as Samuel C Dunlap III Inc (USCAR 1/64). This seems too much of a coincidence and prompts a couple of questions:
1) What can anyone tell me about Samuel C Dunlap III Inc?
2) Was it an aircraft leasing company?
3) Or an aircraft broker, perhaps?
4) Where was Samuel C Dunlap III Inc based?
A google search has not yielded anything to date.

Thanks, Martin.
It was “Samuel C Dunlap III Inc” that I was googling for. Hence the difference.
The book on Lockheed Twins mentions this corporation at least twice, in the context I’ve mentioned, but can’t seem to find anything about.
I’ve searched the New York Times site, in the hope of some mention in the business section, but, so far, no luck.
I shall be off-site for a few days, so any other posts will not be answered until next week, I’m afraid.

I’ve got three hits with google:
