LEAVE PARENTS ALONE!!! (UK matters)

I am sooo fed up with political groups sticking their noses into family business in the UK.
The government has been approached to issue a ban on child smacking by parents…as it is seen as a prelude to physical child abuse!!!
What next??? Are they going to ban mothers and fathers kissing their children on the forehead when they leave for work or at the school gates because it could be seen as a prelude to SEXUAL ABUSE???
For Petes sake, this is getting out of hand!!!
When I was a kid my father would kick my ass if I was naughty…and now I thank him for it, I am a better person than some of these yahoos who roam the street today with NO idea of what discipline is and mug old people for their giros! It’s sick!
Parenting should be left to the people who know what they are doing…namely the PARENTS and not some bunch of pillocks who think they know best.
Yes, I know on some occasions parents can get out of hand and cause serious damage to a child…on some occasions even killing a child. However the majority of parents are sensible and restrained.
Hundreds of people are stabbed to death in the UK each year…does this mean we should ban the sale of the kitchen knife???

Paranoia is NOT the answer 😡

Kids are fine,

The best way is to marinade them for 6 hours in the fridge and then briefly pop them on the BBQ, they’re nice just crisp with a light salad and a glass of chilled Chablis.

The taste is not unlike deep fried cat.

I know I’m unreasonably intolerant of kids, but I would start with a machine gun and work up to something more serious.

Women, now they should come with instructions, I’ve been studying them for the best part of 40 years and I still don’t understand the consept.

Mind you the instruction manual would stretch into several hundred volumes and would be in a state of constant amendment.

Light Programme sounds a bit heavy to me.:D

I wanna spank the dumbass parents who don’t:

1: Cuddle their little ones.

2: Sing ‘the Bear Neccessities.’

3: Watch the Jungle Book with them.

4: Give them limits.

5: Sing ‘I’m the King of the Swqingers’.

Assholes. They better watch their step.

Are you recruiting yet?

I would expect competitive remuneration for your average disciplining, but would be prepared to operate at a reduced rate for

1) Children being rude and disrespectful to their elders (On a sliding scale to the point where I’d happily pay to thrash youngsters being rude to frail pensioners)

2) Children persistently screaming in public

3) Children forgetting to say “please” and “thank you”

4) Children driving Novas, Fiestas and Peugeots whilst wearing light coloured baseball hats with curved peaks and with windows open and wireless sets turned up to full volume.

I have a business proposal for you lads.

If your idiotic Gov’n introduces a law banning smacking, I propose to set a company offering those unfortunate parents with unruly offspring a smacking service.

The idea is that the parent/s ring a special hot line and a fully trained smacking operative will be despatched to their location to knock 9 bails of S*** out of the offending issue with out the risk of prosecution to the affected parent/s, who are obviously banned from doing so.

The service levels and tariff would be along the following lines

One off service within a 10 mile radius £10
Block smacking £50 for 12
Monthly contract £60 unlimited
Yearly contract £650 unlimited.

Special discounts for multiple chastising of twins and other forms of multiple births.

Small Country rebellions subdued (please call for a quote)

I am giving you my fellow forum users the chance to invest in what is going to be a going service industry.

Please ring this number after dark 666 666 666

Alex.

I understand your concerns, and was smacked as a child with no ill effects whatsoever. But this is a hugely complex issue. There is a rise in the numbers of children who are suffering physical, sexual and emotional abuse and it doesn’t always come from the parents. The physical punishment of a child may still have a place in today’s society, but how is it governed? Who decides what should be the stopping point? When a slap on the legs turns into a slap in the face turns into a punch turns into a kick turns into torture? I have witnessed these escalating levels of violence which often go unchecked in a society which condones corporal punishment. For a professional it is sometimes easy to spot when the corporal punishment has gone past the readily accepted norm. There are clues and indicators to be found both in the child’s behaviour and in physical evidence if one knows how to look. But not always.

I am not a parent but I would support a ban on smacking. My Dad never once smacked me, he never needed to. A look or the tone of voice was more than sufficient.

Discipline in schools is a different matter altogether and reflects a growing lack of discipline and respect throughout society. I think it’s a sad fact that corporal punishment will do nothing to alter that. I have worked as an educator and never found class/group discipline to be a problem as long as the students are actively engaged in the learning process. Maybe that is the answer, maybe not.

I have seen, and had to deal, with the results of physical, sexual and emotional abuse of children first hand and they were truly horrifying experiences. If a ban on smacking stops just one child going through some of the traumas I have witnessed, then I believe it is the right thing to do.

Not a popular opinion I know, but one born of experience.

Regards,

When I was bad… I got hit… I’ve turned out OK… I was never a very naughty child… but sometimes I’d p!ss my dad off somewhat! Strangely… any disciplining that needs to be done now is always done by my mum… not sure why… maybe it’s because I’m bigger than my dad now… not sure!

Not that bad at home.
However the problem is hue at school. The teachers don’t dare anymore to touch a kid nore to kick his butt.

Because they are scared to be charged of “sexual abuse” male teacher NEVER stay alone in a classroom with a kid: sad situation.

I share Comet’s viewpoint : do-gooders are a pain in the a**.

Hand…is it the same in France??? Are parents banned from hitting their children or can u still give them some discipline without the fear of being jailed???

Comet, know what u mean, in the area I live kids roam the streets with no fear of the police or parents. Its a joke!!! These kids are getting away with murder and they’re laughing at parents.

The bloody do-gooders are at it again Alex. No matter that kids in schools are attacking teachers because they know they will not be properly disciplined, kids attack pensioners etc, as long as no one punishes the little darlings that is all that matters. I used to get clouted as a kid, it hasn’t made me violent, I do not think any worse of my parents for disciplining me. The school I went to (well one of them anyway) had corporal punishment and it was brill, no bullying, no yobbish behaviour, just normal and civilised. One school I went to had no form of discipline at all, and you really feared for your safety in some cases because the yobs always had the upper hand over the teachers.
