Leeds/Bradford to Amsterdam…Jet2

Flight 1 Thu 25th Nov. JET2 LBA-AMS B737-300 G-CELV Dep 0830 Arr 1100

I had to make a business trip to Holland last week and baulked at the KLM fare from HUY…£460!! So after looking around I opted for Jet2(never flown with them before). Flight was due to leave at 0700 so I left home at 0400(about 90 min drive). Arrived at LBA to discover that flight was delayed 3 hours! due to fog at AMS. So I thought this will be a painful journey; fortunately delay was reduced and we took off at 0830. I noticed the BMI F100 to LHR had a tech fault causing unknown time delay…I thought the new A319s were op. LHR-LBA?
We were bussed to stand 18 which took us past 5 other Jet2 737s. The a/c look smart in their silver/red livery. In flight service was good but what is the seat pitch on their a/c? My knees were touching the seat in front and I’m barely 6ft with fairly short legs.. As we approached the Dutch coast the clear sky turned to a blanket of freezing fog sat over Holland. We circled in the stack for 35 mins before we could land. Captain said RVR was 300m but as we touched down it seemed more like 150m. I am suprised we landed; must have been close to limits. We only saw the ground at about 50-100ft altitude. To compound the delay we had to land on the Polderbaan at Schiphol(seems the norm for UK flights) and the taxi was even longer than normal. I timed it at 25mins.

Flight 2 Fri 26th Nov. JET2 AMS-LBA B737-300 G-CELC Dep 2100 Arr 2100

Departed from stand D12 which is convenient and seems to be their usual stand at AMS. Return flight less eventful; similar load of @120 passengers. Landed in clear sky at LBA; taxied to same stand 18 and spotted most of the based a/c.

Both flights good; certainly recommend Jet2. Trip booked the day before; cost £184.

Good to hear you had a good flights, but 25 minutes is about the average for taxiing to/from the polderbaan. Any further west and it would be the 2nd runway of LCY!

Ive heard people say about the seat pitch alot, always seems OK to me, but im used to charters so I would say that!
