I am interested in knowing what people here think may be at Legends 2006.
I know this type of post bores a lot of people but I guess what I am really after is to ask forumites what new aircraft they forecast will come on the scene in the next 12 months or perhaps 2 years. It just so happens often they debut at legends.
I know of a few in the popular press eg Fiat 42 and Demon Mk1 should be ready by then (Famous last words) but what else do we think is liely to change or be there – perhaps some more Hawker fighters soon?
What do you all think?
To those I am boring – Sorry!!

Blenheim
I would like to see the Blenheim back in the air, in which ever mark they decide to rebuild it to. This has a more realistic chance of happening!

Hi Tony
Yes I am a dolt – I thought you meant Bristol engines in the Glads and the Gauntlet (although I believe it has Alvis power?) I didn’t think of the Bristols – never forget the Bristols I say. Brisfits would be great all toogether.
John P
So, what’s wrong with Alvis Power then??

Hi John
Tony A
I suspect that all would hold formation pretty well – The pioly is no slouch noe the Nimrod.
What I was meaning was how would the inter-war Hind/Demon/Nimrod/Fiat/… (and don’t forget the Gauntlet?) formation get on following the slow three-ship TFC/HAC/Shuttleworth Bristol Fighter fleet which, all going well, may very well be available for next year.

Making it’s first appearance in 2006 at Leg Ends should be myself, Rlangham! Finally hoping to get myself down there, if i have a car by then, maybe i’ll even pluck up the courage to meet you lot 😀

Hi Albert
Yes but it was encouraging that the Nimrod and Gladiator flew together this year – at least they think about it – They just need to think about putting more of the biplanes up together.

I have it on good authority that they stopped flying B36’s because of a tendancy to try to fly in both directions at once

Ian
Was that Chinease stirring or is your english just poor.Yes – another Nimrod – very nice – I just hope this one flies more often than the first one seems too
Mk12
Yes a Seafire in blighty would be cool.

John,
I am really looking forward to seeing Skysport’s Hawker Demon flying in formation with the Nimrod and Shuttleworth’s Hind, but whether this will occur at Legends or Old Warden….even at all…remains to be seen.

Well, Like Mark12, I’d hope too that Tim Manna’s Seafire XVII will be there and it would be nice if the Seafire 47 could make a trip across the pound to form a unique Seafire duo, perhaps with the Sea Fury tagging along too for good measure. 🙂
And I wouldn’t mind one of the new build Me262’s either!
Oh & the TFC Fiat CR.42 and Skysport Demon would round things off nicely for me. 😀
Personally I would rather see something different to the Spitfire derivatives and endless P51’s etc.

Steve,
That’ll be because most of the engines are facing the wrong way. 🙂

What about two Nimrods, a Hind , a Demon, Two Gladiators, Some Polikarpovs and the Fiat – Now you are talking serious Biplane Grunt!!! and certainly better than the Supermarine glamour parade !!!!!
Would they be able to hold formation OK behind the three Bristol Fighters?

Spitfires & Seafires!
Well, TA805 should have flown by then and will hopefully be booked.
And how about JG891! Must be progressing nicely now?

didn’t take long to swerve towards fantasy land judging by some of these posts 😉

On the contrary, it is good news. The XC-99 is now at the USAF museum awaiting restoration.
