I will be there at some stage over the weekend, depending on commitments with Air Atlantique. With a bit of luck I will be able to say hello to whoever is around at some stage, all I know for sure is that I wont be able to be around late on Saturday or early on Sunday, so will miss out on the other meetings which is a shame.

Apologies for the error in my last post-the display centreline is the AAM! Just re-read my instructions-living up to my pseudynym!

Well, my Gold passes for Sunday arrived last week! 😀
Just hope the weather behaves itself!
Cheers

For all the photographers-don’t forget the display centreline has changed for the actual airshow as a result of recent incidents. The display centreline is now centred midway between the TOWER and AAM.

I shall start another thread, then – although since this was probably asked last year I hope I am not contravening the new code of conduct!;)

Has everyone decided where the meeting points will be for the various days?
Obviously the Red Lion at some godforsaken time in the morning on Sunday, but where on the field after that?

OK, I claim the prize for “1st to Depart for Legends”. Of course, if the traffic is as bad as projected this may not be soon enough.
Mrs. Patterson and I are off tomorrow morning for Heathrow. I had to break the news to her this evening that a rain coat (or any coat) might be in order. You won’t have any trouble finding us at Legends, as we’re the bright red couple that got too much sun at the Lake of the Ozarks this weekend (After having a wonderful 4th of July and saying nasty things about the British, like “No Taxation without Representation”). Wonderful Holiday. We threw some tea in the Lake in your honor.
Oh, if any of you say ANYTHING to my wife about Hurricanes or Spitfires, I’ll have to hurt you. Remember, Steve’s a sensible sort of person who wouldn’t dream of buying another old smelly airplane. Got it???
See you at the Red Lion…
Of course, I mean Duxford.

Having not attended a post or pre show gathering before, where is the Red Lion? I presume it is near the airfield.
Dave
Turn right out of the site along the A505. Cross the M11 and it’s around a mile on the left. It is visible from the main road, and signposted, but it’s down a side road that leads to Whittlesford Station.

There appears to be the need for 3 meeting points suggested excluding post show pub visits! However there don’t seem to be any times/locations except for the ceremony at the Red Lion at 9.00 a.m. on Sunday.
As I am currently unsure which day or time I will be able to make, is it possible to have definitive times/estimates and locations for meeting inside the show on both Saturday and Sunday?
The Vulcan was suggested as a location and seems in view of the weather forecast to be the largest umbrella available for those waiting to meet!

Yup.

Would that be over your stained and partially eaten t-shirt and saggy-arsed combats – as seen at Merlins Over Malta?;)

I’ll have tie and blazer. I’m sure that’s acceptable.
By: Flood - 2nd July 2004 at 23:45
How will everyone be dressing?
Is Snapper-chic acceptable?
