😮 That is localised,——move the display 15 miles up the road:D
Hopefully it will break up as the day goes on. 🙂

Good call Capt Chaos. I live 12 miles West of Duxford and at 1040 local the cloudbase is still around 1000 feet with wispy cloud below that. Horizontal viz is 10k plus but I certainly wouldn’t be flying yet, although it is brightening from the West.

Duxford ATC stated they were closed due to weather when I called. Weather for my slot time is also poor and worse enroute. I appreciate you may have better local knowledge but I am happy to rely on official sources when it comes to flight safety.

Weather horrid today, we have srubbed flying in and Duxford currently closed. However there is a weather window around display time so fingers crossed for those still going.

 What on earth are you on about  weather cloudy at worst and i live 15 miles away.
I went inside yesterday Friday and it was lovely ,today is cloudier and cooler at the moment.

Going to take my chances tomorrow too-there’s supposed to be a wind getting up on Sunday, and knowing my luck it’ll be right across the runway!!-bald and walking with a limp if anyone wants to say hello!-hope you all have a great weekend-and lets just hope its a nice, safe display

BBC TV weather report half hour ago looked to indicate Sunday as being the slightly better of the two days.

I rest my case;) maybe I’m going tomorrow because I want metcheck to be right ! – will take a coat and sun cream…..”unsettled” seems to be the order of the day (s)

metcheck says Saturday, BBC says neither, met office not too clever either, they can’t all be right, they could all be wrong but I’m taking my chances tomorrow.

Only Miss Velma and Sea Fury…

Just got back from Duxford and various chats with TFC people and Duxford volunteers.

Only Miss Velma and the Sea Fury will be displaying from the TFC stable. But, apparently (don’t shoot me on Monday if this isn’t true, caveat) the French FW-190 is going to display. It is currently parked up alongside the Duxford resident FW-190…making a nice photo I must say!

Lots of politics around the permit to fly registrations apparently, all of which went right over my head. The reply I did understand was the ‘it’ll all get resolved soon’ and when I asked if they’ll be all flying again the answer was ‘yep, when the problems are sorted’. So light at the end of the gloomy tunnel there.

No idea which day to go to Legends…anybody got a reliable weather prediction?

>amateurish photo of two FW-190’s if anybody wants me to post it up(?)

It doesn’t look like it so far, would have been nice to see Marinell!

VIMY at Duxford

Whilst there will be loads of lovely aircraft flying at Flying Legends, drop into Hangar 2 and see Vimy NX7IMY. Understand she is still airworthy but not displaying.

perhaps this year in honour of the French and quite a chunk of the warbirds attending from across the channel, rename Flying Legends to ‘Legendes Volant 2009’

😀
