Look at this great build LEGO Aircraft Carrier…..

Givce it up guys, the small flight deck does not conform to any known ship past or present and given the Stealth looks of the new ships I can confidently say that she looks like nothing in the future either. I pulled out my Jane’s Ship book and there is nothing in there at all like this, especially having a smoke stack so close to the hanger like that, it would impeed flight ops.
There are some that are close but that smoke stack is the sticking point!

Ah okay, so its probably just a generic DD. Pity, still trying to figure out what it reminds me of though 🙂

Stern and hanger rear end look like that of a long Perry, but as stated, most likely a generic escort (DD/FF). I’ve been through every thing I’ve got and nothing comes close, US or European 🙁

He’s kinda vague on the DD.

Looks like a fairly small helo pad… It certainly isn’t a Burke! Maybe a foreign destroyer? (or one of the older ones, Brooke, Garcia? )

Its not a Spruance, Rear Funnel is off set on that class. A Perry should have a Phalanx on the hanger, but the funnel is in the right place.
Nah as you say its not a Spru but forget the funnel, its got the helo deck on the stern, doh! Not a perry either since their superstructure is contiguous. This is actually starting to bug me 🙂 That stern look really familiar but I can’t put my finger on it and I can’t find it in my books. Given the detail that has gone into the carrier I have to believe the escort is just as faithful.

Damn and I thought I had too much time on my hands. Good thing they didn’t drop it getting it into the water. 😮

I think the escort might be a Spruance actually 🙂 Not a Perry anyway. Sigh if only. I never got past tanks and attack choppers. Built a fairly faithful AMX-10RC at one stage. Still got it largely intact at my folks place IIRC. Should get the stuff for my own kids, but, nah 🙂

That’s an incredible bit of imagination and know how to put this thing together. Great job to whoever is responsible for it!

I bow before them, I’m not worthy, I’m not worthy.
OK Hands up who still does play with Lego? (Yes my hand is up). I love the Starware pilots, nice touch. I find it interesting that they actually replicated the interior so well too, look at the speakers in there. This guys must be USN. I wonder if they will take it on tour and if it will come down here.

I understand that Lego now have computer models to help them build the one off display pieces. It would make life easier at the design stage, thats for sure

Wow!
Looks awesome. Love those Legos builds! Here are a couple of mine. An OV-10, and an M-551.

I used a bunch of MegaBloks in the M-551, as they have better angle parts, tracks and a decent Ma Duece.

I see the sub (668??) and the Escort (Perry???) how long before the whole battle group???

Awesome!!!
That’s clearly Custom made by Lego, otherwise there is no way on earth you could get so many grey blocks. You’d have to save up a couple of thousands kits to get a decent number of blocks of any colour. I also think half of the parts are custom made as I have never seen them before and I did have my own share of LEGO blocks in the past. My biggest ones were a 1/100 Kara and 1/100 Kirov (that Kirov was indeed 2m57 long and fairly tall, filling a great part of my room). I also made a much larger scaled Osa I class, I think I even have a picture of that one. I was still a kid though.
However it is still a great accomplishment and it must have taken a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time to build that!
No its not custom made by Lego. There are ways to get the parts you want on places like ebay etc.
The parts not custom made aswell, everything is standard lego.
However the bricks must have cost more money than I’ve ever had (being a student).

I think Lego are willing to sell custom kits on request, especially if you want to buy in large quantities.

Insane and fascinating at the same time.. Must have been an avalanche of grey blocks.
