I got to spend a couple of hours at Leicester on Sunday afternoon.

No, it is not. Leicester is to the south east of Leicester and still active: Leicestershire Aero Club home base. Rearsby is to the north east and closed as an airfield quite some while back. Quite a few of the buildings that used to be the home of the Auster Aeroplane Co are still there.

A nice change from the heavy metal. Pardon my ignorance (it’s been almost 40 years since I lived in the UK) but is this the airfield formerly known as Rearsby?
