Hi all
I guess it’s time we formaly introduced ourselves and The Leicester Aviation Restoration Workshop, into the great wide world of Aviation Restoration.
Many of you will either know us personaly or by reputation already, we are at pressent just the two of us (Father and son team), Ritch and Max Blood, although, now that I am a Grandad, maybe a new genoration is not so far away!! And we are happy to consider taking in other new members or to associate with and help other local groups and / or projects.
We formaly based ourselves and our projects at Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire. But for various reasons, we have now cut our ties there, (except for being proud, Honorary members of the Lightning Preservation Group, who we try to help out at there various events when we can). Whilst at Bruntingthorpe, we were keen members of the Phoenix Aviation Museum, and owners of various airframes, including, An Auster J.1 Fuselage, Slingsby T.31B Glider (now airworthy), Beagle Pup cockpit section and, fast taxiable Jet Provost T Mk.3A, XN584.
We have however, now moved to a pair of lock up units near our home in Leicester, where we are working on the cockpit section of Chipmunk, WZ869.
Our aims for the future, are to carry on working on the Chipmunk, and also to document and hopefully, in some way, comemorate the crew of a Wellington that crashed within yards of the site of our workshop.
We would also be interested in a second project, either a small airframe or an engine of some sort. Anything considdered!!!
We are also now in a possition to manufacture sheet metal items for other projects in our workshop, having a folder, guilotine etc available. We also have two trailers available, and a hand crane, so can collect and move many items.
Anyway, in a nutshell, that’s us!! If we can help anyone in any way, please ask, and if anyone has anything cluttering up there workspace, we are as always, looking for any Aviation Memrobilia otherwise known as “aircraft Junk”, especialy anything Chipmunk or for our proposed Wellington memorial display.

Welcome back!
Hi Ritch & Max,
We North-West Aviation Enthusiasts were a bit worried earlier this year when it seemed that you were both heading on out of the aircraft preservation scene. Now it looks like you are firmly back in – and we are all the better off for it.
This game attracts, in my opinion, more than its fair share of misfits and idiots and we can ill-afford to lose two of the good guys. I know I speak for our little NW group when I say that we are glad to hear that you are sticking around.
Good luck – and thanks for your support and assistance this last year or two with our projects. We’ll help you when and where we can.

My very best wishes for your project. I am sure things will go well for the future. Start the grandchilren as early as possible!! I see a dynasty in the making.
