Did anyone go flour bombing at Leicester today?
I flew in to watch for a while this morning before going snow hunting in Wales. Mighty fine fun.

This is a sad sight, I have done some of my flying training in G-BHEN.

I’m sure the assessors will be fair.
😀 😀 haha!

They don’t need ‘R’ for that! If the engine is running at ‘high-ish’ powersettings that will happen.

I think each happened about 3 or 4 days apart? I’m sure the assessors will be fair.
The problem is how a club profitably continues in the short-term

Does that cause insurance problems for the club? Or are aviation insurers more sympathetic (and no I don’t believe that for a second).

Hard-working long-term club aircraft aiui
Sad that the club may have lost two of it’s a/c then.
Unfortunate that they had two accidents on the same day.

Were these club aircraft, or just folk from out of town making a mess of things?

Always sad to see a wrecked aeroplane (first-hand experience here)
But perhaps something good may ultimately come of it in that LAC will replace the 152 with something newer and better?

At least nobody was hurt i suppose.

The sad reality of events at Leicester….

Hmmm, I seem to have one or two details amiss – was quite champagned up when I received the information though!
As for Leicester Flying School – I hope they’re well insured!

“PA28 Archer G-BPAY landed long on the short runway (I think on the 29 or the 30th) and ended up in the field by the marquee. Took the undercarriage off and destroyed props etc – also looks like a write off.”
By: Flying chick - 1st January 2005 at 17:11
Yeah I heard something about that too from someone last night. Apparently they also had an incident with a Cherokee that overshot the runway? Dunno if that’s true – might be just exagerrated gossip!

I’ve got a report that Leicester FC C152 G-BHEN “landed in a field short of 28 during the flour bombing event on Boxing day and ended up on its back. Looks a write off with broken tail, undercarriage, wing ripple etc”

It was a grand day out at Leicester with loads of visitors all day. The flour bombs certainly made a patch of the grass look as though it had snowed a lot.
Cheers,
