Yes, I agree. Goodbye Mickey Mouse is a great novel, also by Deighton.

Both the novel, and the radio version are excellent! Each in their own way. Read /Listen to both.

I remember when it was first braodcast on BBC Radio it was done in snippets of real time,which was a nice touch.As others have said,it’s a very good production,and well worth getting hold of a copy.

there are a few kicking about on ebay on cassette but its only a short wait to get on cd so i shall wait for that i think.

I was put onto this by Moggy C and it is absorbing. As Moggy says, stick it into the car for a long journey and the time just flies by.

Excellent – close your eyes and you are in a Lancaster over Germany with cannon shells ripping through the fuselage OR you are a German listening to the crunch and concussions as a stick of bombs approaches.
It is actually quite scary and traumatic to listen to this tape but well worthwhile. I read the original novel many years ago and that was good too.
