i know this book has featured several times on this forum …….
the original novel claims the events took place on the night of JUNE 31ST 1943 (with the disclaimer in a preface that there never was a 31 06 in 1943 or any other year) .
i notice the BBC version changed this to saturday FEBRUARY 18TH 1943
can anyone explain this alteration ?
ps – it’s coming up to FEBRUARY 18TH !!!!!!

When was the BBCs version first broadcast, February or June?
I can remember listening to it (in real time) but can’t for the life of me remember what month it was.
