Cheshire’s Mustang
There is an Air-to-Air photograph, and a coloured drawing, in OSPREY PUBLICATIONS AVIATION ELITE series book on 617 Squadron.
It shows a Mustang III fitted with a “Malcom” canopy, D-Day stripes, but no individual code letters.
Hope this is of some help.

The paperback version of Richard Holmes’ biography of Leonard Cheshire has a photo of Cheshire flying his Mustang of his 100th op. unfortunately I can’t find any credits in the book for the source but I’m sure the publishers could point you in right direction.

If you contact Mark Postlethwaite the artist he might have a photo of Cheshire’s Mustang as he did a nice painting of it. Jim Shortland wrote a book Dambusters in Focus, I think there might a photo in the book.
