Les Munro – Access to Log Book?

Seeing the thread pertaining to ‘Winkle’ Brown’s log book made me wonder whether Les Munro’s log book is accessible in any way. I am studying the history of 1690 BDTF, which he commanded for quite some time, so this would be of great interest to me. If anyone reading this has any relevant information, advice or suggestions, I’d be very pleased to hear from you. Thanks in advance. Andrew

My understanding is Les’s logbook is held by the Museum of Transport and Technology in Auckland, along with his medals. I’d suggest you contact Peter Wheeler of the New Zealand Bomber Command Association, he will be able to confirm this as he administers the Bomber Command collection at MOTAT. His email is spirits@xtra.co.nz
