Let us also remember

I have started this thread so as to take nothing away from the sacrifice of the few who denied Germans mastery of the air over these islands. Yesterday was their special day and I will continue to remember them with pride as long as I live.
Let us take a moment or two to remember the often forgotten. By that I mean those men and women who worked in industry,transport, farming and not forgetting the Fire Service and rescue teams who kept this Country going during the dark days of 1940 and beyond. Also later in the war the Bevin Boys conscripted to work in the mines( all the more poignant today as we have miners trapped underground as I write).

I would like to think that if anything like this ever happened again we would pull together with as much courage and fortitude as our forebears.

I know this is an Aircraft Forum but without the above we would have had none to deny our enemies with.
