Hello all:
Here’s some photos of this year’s open day at the historic Letňany airfield in Prague:
The boxy but always entertaining full scale Avia BH.1 replica, a common performer at Czech airshows:

A Mráz M.1C Sokol, one of only two or three airworthy examples of the type anywhere:

A Praga E.114 Air Baby in from Switzerland:

Full scale Tatra T.101 replica:

Polikarpov Po-2 in from Slovenia:

Orličan L-60 Brigadýrs in both inline and radial flavours:

A Beech 18 in from the UK:

Just proves that looks can be deceiving.

Thanks.
The BH.1, by most accounts I can find, was a very responsive and nimble aircraft despite appearances. Once they get that replica off the ground and into the air, it’s difficult to believe that something so boxy can be so lively.
It probably was a very safe aircraft for it’s day. It was built in 1920 and was of quite solid construction relative to contemporary designs.

Nice variety. The Avia BH1 looks a scary thing, not sure I would trust my life to one of those.
