The RAF Hurricanes of number 46 Squadron evacuating Norway and landing on HMS Glorious…
…not only were the Hurricanes not fitted with arrestor-hooks but none of the pilots had landed on a carrier before!

That’s a big call isn’t it Moggy.
It’s a widely held opinion. Would you care to suggest alternative candidates? It could be an interesting discussion.

43,
Not Moggy’s words – those of Leigh-Mallory. FWIW, having flown a lot at night on NVGs (including a coup de main in Iraq) I’m astounded by the sheer pilotage skills and airmanship the pilots showed on that night.

Danny Webb is the most intriguing casting as Gale – a long way from the parts he normally plays. Interested to see who is cast as Howard and Lovatt.
I assume this is the chap http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0916073/

Look forward to it. Being a film about a British action, it shouldn’t involve the participants fighting each other
more than they do the enemy.

“I own a spitfire and I can fly it – Do you need one for your film?
Okay so this isn’t really a frequently asked question, we do have a sense of humour at the Pegasus Production Office – Yes we certainly do need a spitfire for one scene and it would be a shame to have to do it with CGI, so if you’re from the aviation world or know someone who is who can get hold of one, we do need one, for a single days filming.”
Premiere will be some time in 2017
