Im pretty sure the route will still be there in October, just think its too soon to book at the minute depending on what time you want to travel.

A workmate of mine recently flew NCL-AMS-NCL with LS and wasnt too impressed. Didnt mention crew, Just that the a/c was the one used for mail flights and was very shabby inside, and that you have to bend down to see out of the window! says that he still prefers EZY. Thats his opinion not mine Ill have to get something booked to give them a try.

Hi There
On the subject of Jet 2, I need to fly to Gatwick in November and Jet 2 are not saying if they will continue beyond October.

I am off to the States and have always used british Airways in the past.

Does anyone know if any airline will continue the newcastle gatwick route in November

Thanks Paul

Lets just put it they are alot better then BA with the service

Hmm.. If you say so. I couldn’t disagree more! British Airways is officially the ‘Airline of the Year’, offering complimentary service and delivering outstanding service on all flights. Compared to Jet2, who offer nothing more than an overpriced bar.

Airlines are like any service industry… it depends (from both points of view) who you get. Every airline has great crew, average crew and lousy crew… every customer has their own wants, needs and opinions.

Let us know how you get on Dave. I’ll be interested to hear as living near LGW I’ll probably use LS when I visit family in NCL.

they are alot better then BA

Now then! What’s your problem mate? 😉

It is a while since I’ve flown with Jet2 as recently on the Belfast – Leeds run, flyBE has been cheaper. However, if you like flying on 20 year old 737s that are past other airlines’ ‘use by’ dates, you’re in for a treat 😀

Otherwise their service and standards to me have always appeared pretty unremarkable in my personal experience – probably not as good as easyJet, but better than Ryanair.

John

WOOOO. JET 2 Bashing Thread is what this thread should be called. I actually find it quite intresting when JET 2 Crew Memebers chat to Off Duty JET2 Members you get to know the ins and outs of the Company. As for serivce well you couldnt ask for more. OK i have only flowen to Paris Alicante and Barcelona but what i am saying is that JET 2 are a good Airline. Just hope you enjoy the flight from LGW to NCL (Lets just put it they are alot better then BA with the service LOL)s

Please don’t question my opinion, just accept it.

Please remember guys that not everyone will share the same opinion and it wouldn’t be fair not to accept or respect others views. Every passenger who travels JET2 is entitled to their own opinions and views based on their service and performance – regardless of whether this is positive or negative.

Dave has asked us all for feedback on their service and this is what everyone has provided him. If negative feedback is given, then perhaps we shouldn’t be so quick to start a rant against each other but instead discuss, like adults, where any possible issues lie and what JET2 or any other company for that matter could do to rectify the problem.
Let’s listen to what others have to say and let them view their opinions freely, after all Dave did ask for feedback regardless of whether it was good or bad.

Dave – Make sure you form your own opinion of JET2’s service, and let us know how you get on. Enjoy your flight whether for business or pleasure purposes 🙂

NCL-LGW is now done by a 733 3 x Daily. The 146 is away back to FLT, and BLK now has an MD80 based.

Just to add my two pence, ive got nothing against cabin crew chatting when there working i think from there point of view helps to create a good working enviroment.

One particular incident on a flight last Tuesday involved one of the cabin crew, shortly after starting the drinks service, chatting to a fellow non-working JET2 employee sat in seat 3D, so I and the rest of the front of the aircraft were sat listening to “and what I said to Peter was I wasn’t happy with what he said…” For ten minutes. I don’t see this as projecting a very professional image and I certainly don’t see attitudes like that anywhere near as much when I fly with bmi, BA, KLM, TAP, Lufthansa, SAS, Air France, or even Easyjet, and I think it’s perfectly fair to point it out. Chat, yes, by all means. I’ve had many a random friendly chat with crew on flights, (and yes, on JET2 flights as well!) But I don’t think it’s too much to ask that people stay focussed on what they’re paid to do. I have to stay focussed in my job otherwise the people who pay me and the general public who’ve paid good money to watch and hear the concert I’m mixing or playing get very annoyed. I don’t see why this is any different!

well PMN, Actually i feel Jet2.com has gone better over the years to behonest, better services, a lot of ”firsts” to the loco market!

As for like Crew chatting during the service, i think that is very petty, so many flights i have had passengers come up to me and say i wish we had more people like you guys on our flights, or this is why i like Jet2 because the crew are down to earth yet professional etc.
Forgive me if im wrong, the job is getting done is it not?? an as for a lack of attentiveness, towards pax? i dont think so somehow?, but i know you all are going to say it i biest?

As for cabin crew being straight out of college? what is wrong with someone younger doing the job? everyone who has flown as crew had to start somewhere?.

With the greatest respect, you’ve just proved my point perfectly. Please don’t question my opinion, just accept it. I fly an average of 60 times a year with quite a variety of airlines and I’ve formed my opinions for a reason. If people listened to those choose to pay their company instead of being instantly dismissive, perhaps improvements could be made!

Not to be intentionally too negative, but I actually feel JET2 have gone downhill somewhat since I first flew with them in January 2004. I thought for the first probably 15 flights I did with them they were superb, but the last couple of times I’ve travelled with them I’ve noticed little annoying things like cabin crew chatting mid-way through the drinks service instead of getting their job done and a general lack of attentiveness from the crew that I haven’t found all that much with Easyjet or even (dare I say it?) Ryanair.

It’s a little sad to say, but it’s very obvious some of the cabin crew are straight out of college and still in that mentality where chatting instead of working is acceptable. Also, I have to say, some of their aircraft arn’t in as good a condition as they were. Whatever opinions people may have of Ryanair, I’d much rather travel on a week old 738 with seats that don’t recline than a 22 year old 733 with pen marks everywhere.

Anyway, so I don’t seem entirely negative I’ve had plenty of enjoyable flights in the 24 times I’ve travelled with JET2, and I will certainly happily continue using them. I just feel they’ve let a few little things slip lately, but unfortunately it’s often the little things that are the most annoying!

WE ARE THE BEST LOCO GOING!! hehe 😀 😀 😀

well from many travels with different locos, i have found Jet2.com to be one of the best, and no im not saying that because i work for them, i have thought that before i worked there, maybe that was what inspired me to apply to that particular airline! as apposed to other locos.

Service onboard will just be a normal barservice like any other, not too sure what the NCL operation is but when we did it from MAN u got everything like anyother flight other than sarnies and tax free.

Unlike other Locos u get allocated seats on check in, which helps with ontime departures, it has been operated on both the leased BAe 146 and our own 737, jus depends on the day and load
we have e-check in too which is good expecially for the short flights like NCL-LGW-NCL etc. hope this kind of helps?
