LH/EW Relationship

Was up Guernsey Airport this afternoon and had the surprise of my life, I saw what I presumed to be a LH 735. LH has not operated charter flights here in 2 years so I was wondering what they were doing here? I came to a conclusion that it was operated by Eurowings to Dusseldorf on their Saturday charter flight. For the last couple of years this has been operated by a BAe 146 and further back an ATR 72/42.
So what I would like to know what is the relationship between LH and EW? Some sort of code share or do they have a stake in the company or leasing an aircraft or something? Just seemed strange (yet good if it continues throughout the summer).

Any info appreciated.

Thanks you guys. I think it must be something to do with this stake LH has in EW then. You know it is just a surprise when you expect to see a BAe 146 then find it is an aircraft you ain’t seen in 2 years. Dusseldorf airport has the flight up as a BAe 146 for next weekend and for the ones after an ATR 72/42. Will go up Saturday again to see what it actually is.

I think LH has a stake in Eurowings; the latter has been operating flights inside and out of Germany for quite some years now. I was on a Eurowings aircraft yesterday with an LH flight number, and the welcome-in-bla-bla announcement said “… Lufthansa flight operated by Eurowings…”
