Mark – i echo your comments in my thread – it too was nice to see you again. 🙂

You got some very nice pictures from yesterday – the Qantas one turned out very nice – all mine were crap, got the fence in everyone – my lense just couldnt overcome the fence – to big to fit in the holes, thats the upside i guess to a small digital camera.

Looks like i did miss a few interesting bits after i left, Ie, the biz jet, the qatar 330-300 and the Mauritius 340. 🙁 Ah well.

Once again, good job on the pics, and nice to have seen you again. 🙂

And finally a shot of wannabe pilot as I know he really wanted me to post this photo.

Yes, he does look this gormless in real life 😀

Oit! *slap*

Just cos I didn’t sit in the baby arcade machine thingie in Cologne!

Nice ones there anyway, I can’t believe my luck when the Blue Peter went over!

Here we go
As this photo shows… you can get anti-glare paint in white too

http://www.airliners.net/open.file/620914/L/

My guess is most AI aircraft have this too now.

This photo illustrates it very well:

…….What is that blue painted area under the cockpit glass?

Anti Glare paint. Designed to stop any Sunshine reflecting up into the cockpit and dazzling the pilots.

Nowadays it comes in just about any colour… as can be evidenced on BA 747s. I’ll find a pic.

Dunno why AI insist in it being blue. Though I beleive its being phased out.

Have to like the Air India shots best out of the last bunch.

What is that blue painted area under the cockpit glass?

We were trying to work it out, none of us quite knew

Thanks Grey. We were by the perimiter fence near 27L in the morning for the hold point shots, and then just moved across the road to Myrtle in the afternoon, after a short spell at the industrial estate under 27R.

I saw that Jordanian A340 at Glasgow, of all places, quite a while ago.

Nice pics. 🙂

Where were you standing?
