Hi from Andrew M and myself, currently sitting in the Admirals Club at JFK. Just flown over here on BA, and are off to Toronto in a couple of hours. Here are a few pictures from the earlier flight on B747-400 G-CIVH:
Departing LHR 09R:

Over MA, near Nantucket/Marthas Vineyard kinda area:

Speedbrakes extended as we hug the coastline:

Final approach for 22R at JFK:

And a shot of the new US Helicopter shuttle service to Manhatten, taken from the AA admirals club lounge I am sitting in now:

Oh and here is Andy looking miserable/posing (not sure) in the lounge.

Look out for the next update in the next couple of days from Toronto!

Ok, that’s what I figured. T9 is AA’s terminal, right? I just figured that out by the flights in your signature. It’s not really surprising that they didn’t have food in there. Having access to the lounges for the better part of 5 years due to my Star Alliance Gold status, our domestic carriers have really nice facilities in US airports, but leave a lot to be desired in terms of amenities. There’s a huge difference between UA’s lounge in LHR and SYD, compared to their lounges in their 5 hub cities over here. Again, the lounge itself is really nice, but you have to pay for alcoholic drinks, no food, etc. That’s not the case overseas. Conversely, foreign carriers have really nice lounges stateside, in terms of food, drink, etc. Swiss even has showers in their lounge at JFK, along with hot food on catering trays.

Yup they do, along with ANA and AC I think?

BA doesn’t share terminal 7 at JFK with United anymore?

Cheers guys!
Greekdude, as we had a 6 hour layover we decided to splash out and pay in. For the 2 of us it was $75, which worked out around £20 each. We both decided in hindsight it probably wasnt worth it. There was no food, and you had to pay an extra $10 for the Wi-Fi. Given T9 is so new, I really wouldnt have minded spending the 6 hours in the main terminal I dont think.

Hey from Toronto. We finally got here last night on our E135, after a 1 hour departure delay from the gate, and a 2 hour queue on the taxiways!
Heres a view of the wing of our 135 before the light went:

And here is a shot of about a quarter of the queue. It stretched up to the left then round to the right as you can see in the picture, but then continued down to the right almost 3 times as much:

Next stop is Denver via St Louis on Friday…
