Los Angeles to Be BA’s First A380 City, Hong Kong Its Second
The airline is due to receive its first double-decker Airbus A380 in July and seats are now available for purchase for A380 flights on the Los Angeles-London Heathrow route from October 15.
British Airways’ second A380 route will be London Heathrow-Hong Kong and customers can book flights now for travel from November 15.
Quick question, if BA are recievieng their first A380 in July why are they not introducing it into service any earlier than 15th October…?!

This is correct. I suppose there is a lot of work to do acclimatising crews to a new aircraft.
I can’t wait to see the A380 flying in BA colours. I have identified the LHR-LAX route with worn-out looking B747-400s for so long now that it will be very nice to see a fresh new aircraft flying.

My guess is crew training?
3 months of practice on a new type before show-time isn’t excessive.
I believe Thomson were due to get their 787 in Feb for a May start.
