LHR meet review

Well it went off without any major hits. Kev, Jason and myself did get lost from Dan and his friend Aaron for a while but we found them in the end.

Dan Thanks for showing me/us where Myrtle Ave is… great spot! Will deffinately go back there.

We saw a very wide variation of aircraft which I think pleased us all?

A310’s to Gulfstreams. And a fair few airlines too.

In total I got 164 numbers today and 60 of those are new ones too me. I think Kev got over the 200 mark in the end?

Dan, Aaron and Jason left around 3ish to go up to Luton for the rest of the day… Dan you better had some good photos from there! 😀 and Aaron too!

Me and Kev headed over to the visitors centre fro the rest of the afternoon, had a look round inside… but we didn’t stay in there long, as it was very warm.

I just wanna say thanks to all of you who attended and making it a pleasent day out, though i am sorry for the mucking around of trying to find each other and getting lost from one another.

Cheers Guys, and Im looking forward to your pics. 🙂

Looks as if a good time was had by all, well thats judging by the photos… which might I add are excellent! 🙂 Well done guys.

Andrew, I got your PM the other day regarding the 747 emergency landing. About 5 miles away from landing, just as it was turning onto the final approach line, it was struck by a bird in the number 3 engine. It was then given a priority landing on 27L as opposed to 27R.

Hope this helps.

Is that Privatair BBJ one of the fleet that’s doing business only class transatlantic hops ?

Thanks for the comments guys!

EGNM – Sounds like a great upgrade getting the 737 BBJ for the ATR-42, but always seems to happen with the passengers who would appreciate it least, don’t suppose football fans would be bothered either way!

The private plane that you ask about is a Canadair Challenger (I think).

Great photos. I was out at Toroto yesterday trying my friends digital for the first time. Hopefully will have pics up soon.

Superb Pictures both of you. Danny your shots are so sharp they are fantastic but Kevs look great to. I like the Qantas 747 with the obstructions I think it adds to the picture. Cant wait to see Andrews now.

Then the Saturday flight must be the 737-800 and the Monday an A310. Now it is getting exciting to see which aircraft I will be on, either one is good 🙂

Brilliant selection again, Dan and Kev.

Love the Uzbekistan Airways colour scheme, it looks brilliant on their B767 aircraft.

As for Virgin, it’s about time the rest of the aircraft wearing the old colours took a trip to the paint shop! 😀

great pics!!

we used to get the Privatairs in a Leeds almost weekly – i remmeber HB-IIN covering for a broken ATR-42 – No a bad sub for some football fans eh! – HB-IIQ and HB-IEE were the most common!

Kev and Dan, very nice pictures. I hope to be getting mine done tomorrow.

That Privatair 737 is very nice. Occasionally get these in at LHR and sometimes the 757 too, but I have yet to see one.

Finally the Flybe that made an emergency landing that Jay mentioned, kept the gear up for a long time and stopped on the runway to be towed to the apron.

Will probably post a couple more over next few days, wait till they’re on a.net as I can’t be bothered to re-size and fiddle about with the file size right now!
