What sorta time you heading down? I might have a “meeting” out of the office to come and join you for a bit!

Hi people, just a quick update. It seems that the weather forecast so far is looking ok, sunny intervals. That usually means that it gets particularly clearer towards the evening, which is my favourite time for shooting.

So far I’ve had interest from cloud_9 and tomfellows….as far as I’m concerned it’s still happening so I’ll update again on Thursday just to confirm.

Might be able to pop up Dan, I’m flying down in the morning to SOU, so will depend if I have the car or not. I’ll let you know!

Possibility I may be able to go on the 6th as I’ve got a day-off. Not 100% sure though. Would like to go to Heathrow as I’ve never been for photography before.

Tom’s right there – tried Tesco’s once with Tony O and its pretty good. Pot luck on the aircraft banking around to the right but it’d be really good in the afternoon, once the sun’s moved around on a bright day.

Just looked at Wellington Road on a map…I was expecting it to be the other direction from Myrtle Avenue to get close to where they turn. Maybe I’m wrong…you reckon it’s possible for these kinda banking shots from Wellington Road? http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1115580/L/

Yeah they are possible from there but some aircraft turn immediaetly and some turn quite far out, it just depends really, although you should be fine! 🙂

Nope, don’t think so. The one I was talking about is where they make a right turn. For left turns try Hatton Cross.

Really glad you’re back on your feet again after those (insert string of strong expletives here) stole your gear. I can’t even begin to imagine what I’d do if I lost my gear. Looking forward to seeing you post again!

Could anyone recommend the best place for the banking shots on 09R? I would imagine it’d be somewhere further up the road from Mrytle Avenue, past Hatton Cross? It’d be good to try some side-on banking shots if they’re coming that way.

Oh, and it’ll also be nearly exactly a year since I came back from LHR with a couple of shots that become quite popular, such as http://www.airliners.net/open.file/0938002/L/ . I think that’s definitely a good sign for the 6th, fingers crossed!

Sorry that I haven’t been around recently….my Summer kinda got ********d up after my photography trip to PMI ended in disaster when I was robbed of approx £2000 of equipment…. 350D, 18-55mm, Sigma 50-500, memory cards, batteries, the lot. I’ve spent lots of time trying to get myself back on my feet and sort things out with the insurance, and I finally (as of yesterday) have my 350D and Bigma back.

damn! sorry to hear that all your equipment was stolen. thats just nasty. now that you’ve got equip back, you’ve got a lot of lost time to make up for! 😀 looking forward to seeing new shots from you. 🙂
