Good Afternoon,
This morning saw another airline fly the Airbus A380-800 into London Heathrow.
Emirates EK001 from Dubai (DXB) was operated by A6-EDB, and will continue to be operated by the A388, replacing the B77W.

Nope, Emirates are just often late departing (but arrive near/on time).

Any ideas why A380 EK002 seems to be so late leaving LHR to DXB each day.
Teething problems or some other reason maybe?

I see that Emirates has used A6-EDB for the first three days of Heathrow service, any ideas what A6-EDC is up to?

Well Ek wouldn’t let you book a whole flight package in one like that ie LHR-DXB-JFK. They dont allow you to back track!
Strange….. I managed to get a quote

I think Qantas starts revenue services to Heathrow in January

Well, if you were sad enough to want to back track to get to NYC, then you could always book each sector individually.
Seeing how SQ long has served LHR, it could be feasible to connect in LHR to SQ-SIN-SYD. And then in SYD to SYD-LAX. Or, of course, in the opposite direction. But while JFK-LAX or vice versa is possible using all 3 A380 operators, circling the globe is not, because no A380 crosses New World.

Sounds better than ‘……stop production’ though, a la Boeing 787….

So, now it is possible to fly JFK-LHR by A380 (with the huge detour through DXB)?

Did that excite you? 😎
You do ask some ridiculously silly questions. Then again, you are Bristolian so I’ll go easy on you.
I’m still to see one of the damned things in the air yet!
