With the fire starting in the wing I would have thought the FAA,CAA would be looking at the cause pretty quick to assist other B-17 operators ?

I thought they had the former Labrador lake recovery machine underway!

They do. Different project.

My bad, the F-BEEA chunks (specifically inner wing sections) are with California Air Heritage Foundation’s B-17F project.

More details on both (and much more) in the June update of B-17 News…

and large chunks of ex-Binbrook crash F-BEFA

Hmmmm? I’m just trying to think what was not destroyed or burnt on F-BEEA that is any more useful than what was left of LB?

With the smiley face i thought you were going to say it had been rebuilt to fly.I thought they were going to get another one flying or am i thinking of something else?

They are currently renting N3703G ‘Memphis Belle’, while work continues gathering parts to rebuild Liberty Belle. Including center/forward fuselage of ex-12’o’clock High film prop 44-83387 and large chunks of ex-Binbrook crash F-BEFA

When you said ‘update’ I was expecting to see a link to the NTSB ‘Probable Cause’ report. This is just a re-hash of 2-year old footage and tells us nothing we didn’t already know.

The article has appeared on the war history site so I thought I would post it for other not up to date members on the other hand if you would like a more up to date info try this link http://http://www.libertyfoundation.org/index.html
or their Facebook page
