Libya makes WMD vow!

Gaddafi vows to give up WMDs!
Libya is to dismantle its weapons of mass destruction program, with a pledge that it will have no arms with a range further than 300km.
Anyone think that Gaddafi thought that what happened to Saddam might happen to him?

Flood.

Doesnt he use female body guards with super model like looks? They should be enough to defeat any all male western army 😀

He’s been a loveable harmless fuzzball for a couple years. Check your back issues of National Geographic a few years back. Still hands out army and air force hardware to certain African locations every once and a while.

Sounded very much as though that’s the case. As the BBC were just saying, Libya were very beligerrent during the early eighties, right up until the Lakenheath boys paid them a visit in April 86. But apart from the surrepticious (sp?) involvement in Lockerbie, they’ve been very quiet for the last fifteen years or so. I think it’s really a case of Gadaffi taking notice of what’s gone on elsewhere, and realising that he really doesn’t have a chance. It’s also quite a shrewd move, as it now puts the onus on the west to recognise Libya as a ‘friendly’ power. Could be quite interesting…

I think maybe Moammar realizes that he won’t be around forever, so maybe it’s best to get Libya back on the Western world’s good side, leave a good legacy and all that. Giving up anything with a range over 300km, and all WMD, is a very nice gesture on his part. I do believe that he did take into account the Saddam Factor 😀 , but I’d also be curious to know if he has or plans to stop supporting terrorism.
