Libyan Air Force – Resurrection

Well… It seems not much hours, if not days, are left for Colonel Ghaddafi. The Transitional National Council (TNC) is about to take over the country.

The 6.5 month clashes that turned into a civil war crippled all the country’s infrastructure as well as military inventory. As for the military aviation of Libya, a huge number of fixed and rotary wing aircraft are destroyed on the ground and shot down because of NATO air strikes, clashes between Ghaddafi and opposition forces – not to mention the almost completely destoyed logistics, spare parts and MRO capability.

Leaving all the politics and stuff aside, what do you think of the future of the new regime’s military aviation? Which countries would be major suppliers, types?
