dark light

Light a candle…

…to those that have passed this year. Someone special who has touched you in some way.

Rik Mayall.
A stranger to me but also part of my life. From the Dangerous Brothers, Kevin Turvey, Young Ones, Bstard, Captain Flashman, Richie or the Typically British `Bombardier`.
Still brings a smile to my face with every episode.
56 is far too young for someone with so much talent.
“Treat yer women like you treat yer kite. Get inside her three times a day and take her to heaven and back!”
Farewell Rik.

Charlie,

To use the modern idiom; is there something known only to you that you’d like to share with us ?

And in her youth; very attractive. Yes, a fine actress indeed.

Very sad to hear of the death of Billie Whitelaw last night. A fine actress with a warm and hugely generous spirit.

Not human, but a lot better than some know, was my dog Poppy aged 11. Faithful to the end.

Odd isnt it? Just lost my brother in law a month ago, deep shock.
But I still mourn for people Ive never met like Alan Coren and Humphrey Lyttleton because they touch your lives.

Of those who have died this year Rik certainly enhanced my life as did Philip Seymour Hoffman and Mike Nichols and Lauren Bacall and sevsral others. The loss of two old friends touched me deeply though and I fear for more to come. Merely an inevitable sign of our mutual ageing, but no less sad for it.
