You can’t have pictures of light aircraft without including one of these….

Checking my log-book I find that I flew VR-HFB from Kai Tak on several occasions in 1957. If I remember correctly we flew with the doors off to counteract the heat. Nice to see familiar shapes.

In Glyn’s photo of the Ei- plated Rallye isn’t that a Miles type with the lightning flash on it?
At a guess I’d say M.14 trainer Or of course Blue Max could be right

A couple of shots of G-ANMO taken from sister Tigermoth G-AOJJ over Oxfordshire on a grey day in 2001.

Interesting selection again Glyn. However the Dornier Do-28A was not called the Skyservant. It was the resdesigned Do-28D that had that name.

The DHC-2T pic is still Toronto Harbour! The photo is taken at the seaplane ramp at the east side of Toronto Island Airport. DHC would fly the aircraft from the plant at Downsview and convert them from land to seaplanes in a nearby hangar.

will these be acceptable?
Would’t mind betting the Fox Moths and Austers were taken at Abingdon Fayre last year?

Am I right in thinking the shot of the Turbo Beaver was taken at Coal Harbour, Vancouver? Just that the buildings look familiar
Yes!

Arm Waver, here’s a few more for you.

Glad to see OO-POl in red-white colour scheme. Afterwards she was sprayed in an awful camo. She is now preserved somewhere in Belgium.

Well done Ewan. It was the white-painted area over the canopy that fooled me but the plank shaped wing should have given it away. Which Airtourers did you fly and where did you learn? There are still 12 airworthy in the UK. Nice aircraft, it was the Ozzie Beagle Pup story really. Good product but no government support when it was needed.

Fair enough Ewan…
Don’t think I’ve come across one of them before…

Oz – sadly no it’s unreadable. But if it is a slide then Blue Max maybe able to project it large enough and get back to you.
BM -Thanks for those. I look forward to the next installment.
JJ’s Stearman – I managed a to fly a circuit at Cranfield in her, with JJ in the back, as an Air Cadet. Probably the best type I got in my 3822.
I have a strong personal connection with Sywell as it is where I started my arm waving “Career” at Bill Taylor’s Fly-in in 1988… (I did the poster for it too :))
