Atleast someone looks around. 🙂

Very MySpace, isn’t it? Unnecessary and juvenile.

And as for the comments above, I agree that while the site has potential, it is excruciating to try to read, let alone enjoy.

You certainly make hard work of things Alex.

As I said in my first post just google, zippo

and hey presto.

A Zippo lighter is a refillable, metal lighter manufactured by Zippo Manufacturing Company of Bradford, Pennsylvania, U.S. Thousands of different styles and designs have been made in the seven decades since their introduction including military ones for specific regiments.

Always check and double check your work. If possible get a third person to check over your work, before up loading to your site.

Top Publishers always use proof readers to check even the best author’s work.

I’ts not my work, I have little to no intrest in Aviation at all, I just make the site, but I will check over with Malc to make sure he is completely sure what he is writing is 100% correct because usually it isn’t.

Thanks,:)

So what`s written on it then?

Made in the USA 😀

Smoking can damage your health 😀 😀

Hard to tell, looks like a couple of aircraft, one Jet, one b17 ish over a globe, with some text on the back, both are blurred though

When I heard of this site and as someone with an avid interest in old airfields, especially Burtonwood, it was like a gift from God! There are some amazing finds on there and some great photos but I was really disappointed to find that there were lots of spelling and grammatical mistakes contained within much of the text, with very little accompanying information. Often the spelling mistakes were for things such as the above mentioned ‘sippo’ lighter, which massively reduces the credibility of the authors in my eyes. Also, putting up a blurred picture of an amazing find like the Zippo lighter is pointless and again reduces your credibility.

Overall though, it is a great site with lots of potential. Just take more care with what you put up. Can we see a non blurred picture of the lighter please? I would love to see what it says and also find out some more information about it. What were the circumstances of it being found? Who found it? and where is it now? e.t.c.

Also, can we have more information regarding the engine mountings and the aircraft parts found? Where are they now? Are there any more photos?

Thanks,

Paul

Not you Richard – this website has come in for some criticism both on here and on AiX too:

Previous thread

On the linked Aix thread some editing was done after the outburst referenced to – seems someone doesn’t like to hear the truth 😉

Not a very clear pic, but would suggest you google zippo not Sippo.
