I did like the look of one of those T-shirts but having to part with £50 to get one. Not a chance! Maybe if It was likelier to present itself in UK skies, again hardly likely.
All good intentions but I would agree that my money is better channeled towards the Coventry Shackleton.

…One day grace the UK skies?!? The RAF Dogger Bank Memorial Flypast perhaps! :applause:

I would rather see the money spent on the Shackleton at Coventry.

After the fatal crash in South Africa of one of the Thunder City Lightnings, I read a pretty much told you so contribution from the CAA. I think never in the UK is most likely after that, and following later events I would guess unlikely to move from that position.

How will this ever fly in the UK? I thought the CAA didn’t allow ex military fighting aircraft to fly.

I thought the same 🙂 but apparently it’s going to fly in the USA ,see post 3 ,not sure whether that will dampen the interest .

Not just volunteers, there is a short term job on offer and the website has some fine air to airs http://www.lightning422supporters.co.uk/

They must love their job “…When the moon hits your eye, like a big pizza pie”.

However in this case the team of volunteers have worked miracles to keep the project going and clocked up thousands of air miles flying from the Uk. Jokes aside I cannot think of amore dedicated group.

And we know it can’t happen until the project has a administrator who gets 100,000 a year. 🙂

Perhaps an uncomfortable truth !

Agreed but as Peter said ” Who knows.. one day might she grace the UK sky???????” ,but i very much doubt it.

As with the Vulcan, lack of Design Authority for a ‘complex’ jet means it won’t happen.

After the CAA and the Hunter and Shoreham crash i really can’t see this being allowed. It will be interesting to see how it progresses and wish them well.
