Yep thats Keith ‘supersonic’ Hartley 😉

Not sure which aircraft, 693, 904, 773 ?

It’s ‘693………. you can clearly see it is on the very low, very fast pass along the runway 😀

I was actually very glad of the delay, the darkness really gave the run an edge. My photo’s were crap but i’ll post them later anyway just to give some idea to those who weren’t there.
Also took the chance to buy a Corgi XR728, which now sits on the bookshelf. Top event chaps, heart congratulations!

Dean

And here we are. For those unlucky enough to have X factor forced upon them, the second image reminds me of the “everybody is bright dancing” ad. I can see it now- “What do you bright dance with?”
“Glow sticks, you?”
“A pair of Avons”

Hi Andy

just wondering did you get the genny running ok in the end…………it is def only air in the system

philip

Hey Phil, oh boy, what a game that was

We ran it only 2 weeks ago, just to make sure all was ok, ran a dream, power coming though, it was sweet, nice and quiet as well.

And the morning we want it, oh no, not a chance, ‘lets play them LPG boys up shall I’

oh how we laughed

To cut a long story short yes we got it running in the end and yes it was air in the system, but what a game, didnt really need it to be honest 😉

Ran like a charm after that, didnt shut it down till about 7pm when we left, spot on mate 🙂

Can you say which aircraft will be involved……..maybe the Canberras????:o

For details see: http://forum.keypublishing.co.uk/showthread.php?t=95876

I wish I could say yes re. the Canberras, but sadly neither is presently active / serviceable …though we do plan to run up to a dozen different aeroplanes some being ex-military and the evening will include taxiing as well as statics.

Yes a thoroughly enjoyable event. It was obvious from the progress made that you have all put in many many hours of work in cold and difficult conditions. The QRA sheds and excellent state of the aircraft are a real tribute to your efforts and it was good to see the level of support by the public on the night.

I realise it wasn’t truly part of your event, but afterwards it was nice to see your neighbours with the Buccaneer taking it out too for an engine at night run. I’ll put up shots here of that as others have illustrated the Lightning so well.

There is something atmospheric about witnessing night running of aircraft and we’re looking forward to putting on a good show at our (Air Atlantique) Classic Flight Night Engine Run on at Coventry 13 Dec, which will also include jet action (excuse the “plug”). 😉

Really glad you managed to get the old girl lit up (just in time 😀 )
Very nice to meet up with Andy,Fmk6 John and Rich…sorry we could not hang around afterwards but we didnt have much spare time.

Only about six months away from you being able to have everything snug, well done.
Just a thought, are you on the location listings for Film/TV agencies? I can think of a few time travel dramas which would be far better with added Lightning!

I will go as far as to say, probably sooner than six months before its finished 🙂 and they and us are finally, after 21 years all snug 😉

Very good idea, I will see what the group think of that idea 😉

Thanks for the pics Consul and good luck with your do at ‘cov’ 🙂

Seems we have started a little trend 😀

well done to the LPG again, sorry part of the reason for the delay in starting the bucc was attempting to test run the STAD that is for use with the vixen unfortunately we only got 23,000 RPM out of it which is not enough for the bucc spey so more tweaking needed, back to DW’s ever reliable STAD again it was then

I know it would be bordering impossible but wouldnt it be great if another shed could be raised for two of the taxiiable buccaneers!?

No Peter, not another Q shed, the Leuchars shed is to be gas axed and scrapped ‘quick sharp’ there’s no man power, money and time to save that one, the Binbrook one, well yeh, dont ask us to to it, someone else can have a go but………………..

A new building for them maybe one day, if the Bucc lads ever get to that stage, Im sure Plazz will be able to fill you in on their future plans, its down to David Walton, the local council and the Bucc lads intentions for the future of their aircraft, not for me or anyone to speculate.
Its taken us a staggering amount of time money and effort to do what we have done over the last 15 years, I really cant put it into words to be honest

But no more dismantling, moving and rebuilding of 1960’s Q sheds, it aint no garden shed belive me

Sorry

John, love your pics, superb 😉
