Nice piece of kit that would be welcome at any show in my book(along with Albatross, Catalina, Walrusl, Mars etc..)

Same Albatross at Kulusuk, Greenland 11 June 2003. Blown pot on port engine being repaired using the airport truck and bowser as platforms. It was minus 17 winch chill and the snow on the way to the village was only 8 feet thick.

The best seat in town for Oshkosh 1985.
The middle of Lake Winebago with ‘Connie’ Edwards and friends on Catalina N999AR.

There was an Albatross sitting at the airport in my hometown for I don’t know how long last year. It seemed to be there forever. I didn’t appear to be in flying condition because it didn’t have props and a few other important items (the tail maybe…I can’t really remember).
It appeared to be painted in U.S. Navy colors, but to this day I don’t know the story on it.
I wish I had a way of finding out.

There is a PBY sat at Lee-on-Solent just waiting for somebody to book it for airshows etc – it has been there since Nov 2001.
Visitors welcome π (visitors with big bank accounts very welcome) π

I wholeheartedly agree…any airshow with 4 Corsairs is a real plus in my book…wish that thing taxiing by in front would get out of the way….

Yes I agree, the Goose was around for a little while, I remember seeing it a North Weald as well, pretty little thing. Of course your namesake was always great to see as well, but I hear that its unlikely to return.
Hopefully we might get to see a Catalina this year, so that will make up some of the ‘amphibian’ shortfall, perhaps they can swap it for Mr Week’s Sunderland as I hear he does not get much use out of it !!.

‘Albatross’, did I hear my name mentioned? Ah, the call of the floatplanes! I remember seeing this Goose at Duxford in July 98 and last saw it at the Southhampton “Seawings 2000” show.
Lovely machine – we don’t see enough flying boats here!
