Lindsey Walton

Having just watched a Stearman take off from Dx got me thinking.. Is Lindsey still around, and does he still own/operate his Stearman G-THEA.?

I was at secondary school when the Lincolnshire farmer operated his F4U-7 Corsair from here and he was always a familiar sight at Duxford.. together with her pilots the late John Watts and AVM John Allison. A sad day when the Corsair departed back to the USA.!

just reading that name brings back many happy memories of past airshows: he and his wonderful Corsair were stars of many an airshow I attended. Sorry to hear that he is unwell, he and all the airshow pilots of that era were and still are real heros to me.

He was a regular sight at airshows, playing the part of “the baddie” while at the controls of his Nord 1002/Bf-108 G-ATBG, which is still in the UK (though currently down following an engine mishap last year – or has she reflown since?).
