The Lanc failed to show , it was only a bit of mist , it had almost cleared by 3 o’clock:rolleyes::rolleyes: , glad some of the aircraft from the Shoreham show turned up .

Be carefull what you say sir, i sat at Sywell only a few miles away hoping it would clear so i could get there with the Triplane. Most of the day i could not see the other side of the Airfield, it id not really clear untill 6pm and even then it was less than ideal:( If we could have been there then we would, but it is never ever acceptable to risk life or valuable A/C in such conditions. I have grovelled to many Airshows in the past but unfortunately Sundays weather at Sywell and other parts of the country was not good enough to even contemplate taking off:(

Oh no it wasn’t 😮
Having been on standby at Bicester from 8am to try and find a way through to take up a ‘visitor’ slot, I can testify that for the first time ever, we were experiencing a combined thunderstorm AND fog!!
Then the weather went downhill after that!!

No jets Matt , unless you count the Pilatus PC12 , though some things didn’t even have props ! There were a few cars also .

Great Images, so was Gransden just prop jobs, no jets?

There are some nice photos there. Looking at your photo of Peter on the wing of his P40 you cant have been far from me. I was with a young lady in a wheel chair. We may have even spoken.

Fine images.
The Vacher Hurricane returned to Shoreham and the commentator said it was because he could not find a break in the weather to get to LG. I text a friend saying they have lost a Hurricane due to clagg. Apparently it was displaying at LG the very moment I text!
It did not take long for it to display there, land and come back again.

Steve,
Here is a photo of me 🙂

It’s one Mum took from the back of the Storch on the way over to Little Gransden this morning.
Good luck finding a way to post your photos.

I second that, Great Pics! An enjoyable day, pity it was a bit grey for most of the afternoon.

Great pics displayed by all… well done for making it to the show.
Steve…there is a problem with the forum at the moment, disabling anyone from attaching pictures. The only way you can attach them is the way the guys above have, and thats by using links from the websites/pages.

Last attempt before I give up.

Sorry folks, I’ve had to resize this to get it to post, so not sure if it’s going to be any cop.

I’ll try that again…

Glenn, nothing wrong with being biased, the Cub / Storch routine was great, even if the smoke was still playing up a tad. Must say the sight of Oberleutnant Denney being marched away by two GI’s afterwards was quite amusing, but that’s on my other camera, and I won’t have the films back for a few days.
However, I did get him preflighting the Storch… (Glenn is that you over near the port wing?)

As stevieb said, great day but went a bit dark later on.
Here is my attempt at some airshow piccies.

It was a good day.
I may be slightly biased here, but for me the highlight of the day was the Cub/Storch display. Ken Ellis was great on the commentary through out that scenario. Thanks Ken…
I look forward to seeing everyone else’s photos. Mine are not worth posting here. I’ll leave that to the rest of you.
It was good to meet Damien as well today.
Well done to everyone involved.

In your neck of the woods tomorrow – I’m heading up to Cottesmore hopefully.
