Please don’t view this posting as purely self-promotional, but I think you might enjoy a couple of little video tours of my SECOND flight in the Collings Foundation’s P-51C Mustang last May out of Camarillo Airport, California (the former Oxnard Air Force Base). This is the second time I have had the privilege of actually getting to FLY this fully dual-controlled and instumented aircraft. Although, since you are fully strapped in with parachute and seat harnesses (6 total) and bringing a full-sized video camera was totally out of the question, I strapped my tiny little Canon TX-1 to my left bicep and was determined this time to capture at least a few moments of my flight. The rest of the time, little ‘ole inexperienced me was fully (and joyfully) occupied with cranking this rare Mustang about the Southern California skies. Oh my gosh. Stu Eberhardt (an owner of his own P-51, Merlin’s Magic) is the pilot in the front seat. We proceeded to go barrel-rolling all over the place for the next hour. A fine way to spend a nice SoCal afternoon, don’t you think?:D I cannot imagine anything more fun. Enjoy the videos and FLY ON!
