Little RAF cost saving idea I had…..

With the way things are going with the closure of bases etc… why not close all of the bases… and have one large super base where all your aircraft are? Then you can cut down on transport costs… perimeter defence costs etc. I reckon you could save on personnel aswell… as all your maintenance for each aircraft could be done by the same unit… instead of having squadron dedicated maintenance people.

Bad points are weather… if your only base gets closed down… you have no air force… but then again… does this matter? The UK isn’t likely to be invaded or to need an air force to be scrambled any time soon. Nuclear weapons…. they can destroy your entire air force with one hit if it’s in the same place… but then again… who’s going to nuke the UK?????????
