Evening all. Just a quick thread as a means of getting a message to the chaps who have that superb collection at the back of The Crown Plaza hotel in Liverpool – you’ve left the nav lights on the Jetstream!! 🙂 it’s midnight and I’m guessing they shouldn’t really be on . .
Apologises to admin if it’s deemed not good use of the board – just thinking of the environment and their battery 🙂
Cheers and goodnight
Andy

Nothing to set the world alight photographically, however in response to the request, a few down at the Crowne Plaza Hotel/former Liverpool Airport apron earlier tonight on a breezy, cold and damp evening. Simply used the automatic settings, hand held leaning against buildings etc having left the tripod behind. The results are rather lighter than the scene to the naked eye, must learn how to use the manual settings on my Canon to make the best of low light situations.
Jon H, could not see the blue glow from underneath, but the on/off tail beacon and wing tip lights working well.

Beside the Jetstream 41 is the nose section of G-ORAL. I did not venture over into the darker corner for the Prince G-AMLZ, HS.748 G-BEJD or indeed swing the camera around for Britannia G-ANCF knowing the results would not be fantastic.

Something I’ve been meaning to try and photograph for a while are the ‘fairy’ lights drapped around Dragon Rapide ‘G-AJCL’. Photos not as effective as the effect is by naked eye. A pity that the flat tyres always make the Rapide look rather more unlooked after than she is.

Ok, so not at night, but this is the view this morning out of my window!! Not a bad view if I may say so myself (apologises for quality – taken on iphone!!) 🙂 If only I had more time up here – I would def book a session in the Jetstream!! But guessing you won’t be around this evening . .

I often look out for you chaps when I’m round
Next time you are over why dont you book a session on the flight sim in JMAC? Drop an email to – info@spekeaero.org and sure we can sort something. 🙂

As for pictures of the old girl lit up at night I have to confess in the 5+ years of being a member I have never taken one!

Unless anyone has one ‘on file’ and posts during today (Tuesday), I’ll pop down tonight and take a couple. Only ever seen it in daylight!

Am I the only one who now wants to see photos of this very clever night-display on the Jetstream then? 😀

Phew – glad to hear its supposed to be like that. Already ordered porridge for breakie in anticipation of having to push it to bump start it 🙂 looks lovely, one of my fav aircraft. I often look out for you chaps when I’m round – but sadly only ever seen the local air cadets doing some marching practise!! 🙂

No we didnt 😉
They are on a sensor and come on at night.
If everything is working you should have the tail beacon, wing tips lights plus a nice blue glow coming from under the wings. The latter is none standard but just looks good at night!
Also power isnt an issue as the aircraft is mains fed – well we need something beefy to run the flight sim as well as a kettle when needed 🙂
