LMA Longhorsley…

Have just finished spending a weekend covering the excellent LMA event at Longhorsley in Northumberland. Saturday was a little grey and cold but both Fridays practice day and Sunday saw some lovely weather, something that isn’t seen enough at this particular event. The variety in the air was superb, from A10s and Lancasters dropping bombs to marvellous World War One biplanes.

I must thank the LMA for being such a helpful and friendly group of people. If you can make it to an LMA event this year, I suggest you pay it a visit, they make for great days out. These shots are a mix from the three days, hence the differing conditions in the shots. Alas, the sun is awkward on this site, so I make do the best I can…

#18 – No pilot in this lovely Spitfire at the moment as it is still doing flight testing out of public view. But rest assured, it will have one…

Thank you for those positive replies, glad they seemed to do some justice to the quality of these models…

but that shot of the A-10 dropping its bombs is fantastic!

This video, taken by my father, shows the entire routine by the A10 at the event on Saturday, look closely and you will see (and hear!) the bomb drop…;)

Thank you both for your positive comments.

what lens / camera were you using?

Camera wise it was either a Canon 40d or 10d whilst lenses used at various times were a 400 f5.6L, 300 f4L and a 80-200 f2.8L.

They are all stunning, but #3 and #5 stand out for me. Thanks for sharing.
