Lockheed A-12 vs Mig 25/31

Best looking fighter plane ever flown was the Lockheed A-12. It was the fastest fighter in history and probably had the longest range ever (?). Just imagine it went into service. It’s most likely opponent would be the Mig 25, or later the Mig 31. I’d say the Mig would have a hard time trying to beat an A-12 that would be firing phoenix missiles while cruising at M3. However, once the A-12 has shot off all it’s Phoenix missiles, and probably missed with most of them, I’d say the Mig would walk all over an A-12 in a dogfight, if it came to that. I think the A-12 was destined to have a cannon. I don’t know what its sub sonic manoeverabilty is like though…

Anyway great plane, especially liked the version in the grey air superioity scheme, I’ll try find a pic.
