Lockspeiser LDA (aka Boxer 500)

Does anyone know whether the Lockspeiser LDA-01, originally registered G-AVOR, ever wore the registration G-UTIL, which was allocated to it in August 1986? Unfortunately the aeroplane was destroyed by fire at Old Sarum less than five months later, so it may never have got around to have this registration applied to it. There are no photographs on the net showing it marked as G-UTIL. In fact, there seems to be a distinct dearth of images of this aeroplane dating from the eighties.

It looks as if it spent the eighties as a hangar queen.

I think I saw it as G-UTIL at Farnborough that year (which would have been September) – I remember being surprised that it was an old design being relaunched, so pretty sure it was not carrying ‘VOR.

Having checked lists of aircraft at Farnborough 86, I can’t see it. Perhaps I saw it somewhere else.. Will have a think.

I think the poster above didn’t read your request!

I last saw it at Henstridge, circa 1980 and I don’t think it flew much/at all after that.
