Logging aircraft flights

I run a spreadsheet which I list all the exact a/c(and the date/route) that I’ve ever flown on(sad/mad? I know). Just out of interest does anyonelse on here do the same? Worse still; I know from memory most of the a/c I’ve been on. I always like to fly on different a/c rather than ones I’ve already been on.

I’ve been on so few I can remember most of them off the top of my head.

Like Matthew I’ve never been much of a number cruncher except for the odd memorable flight I’ve been on. I prefer taking photos and just having a look round than making notes and spreadsheets. 😉

Is there any way at all to find out what reg aircraft flew a particular flight? I know all my flight times etc but havent got all the reg’s, I want to do a spreadsheet as well

Dean.

There are some good website that use “acars” listings. Scheduled flights are quite easy to check but the British charter flights are more difficult. If you like, send the flight details(a/c type/route/date/ flt no.) on an email to me at: matt18t@hotmail.com and I’ll check my sources of info.(acars books etc)

About 3 years ago I decided to create an excel file to log all the flights I’ve done to date. Just the flight and destination, not airline, a/c model or reg details as I had to work from memory and my first flights had occurred at least 11 years previously.

So far I’ve clocked 104 flights. I will start logging airline and a/c model details as well from now on…

I use a programme called NMU – No More Underlining. It uses Acess to create a database with a lot of custom functions. I now have a database containing the vast majority of aircraft in the world of a size large than a PA31. There is a tick box function which you tick when you have seen the aircraft, and another section for entering if you have flown on that plane. Its incredibly useful, and I have spent the last year or so updating it, and usualy make at least one modification to it every day! I would be lost without it!

yes I record all the flight details on a spreadsheet – over 250 and counting with 18 more to add from a recent trip (see trip reports)
