London Airport in 1968?

These images are from a film released in April 1969, but produced in 1968, where the visual suggestion is that they show aspect of London Airport. Is this London Airport?

Nothing to stop a Belgian coach crossing the channel in 1968!

Damn clever these Belgians

London Airport in 1968?

Many thanks all round. I didn’t mention the name of the film but considering the references to Belgium in the thread I had to smile for the film’s title is ‘If it’s Tuesday, this must be Belgium’.

Again many thanks.

It’s definitely Gatwick. The coach is Belgian, but the other coach is Harrington Cavalier-bodied, and very British!

That number plate detail – that’s right, well observed!! The plot thickens or perhaps becomes a step nearer solving.

Hmmm… 1960s. Coach with a small number plate with red lettering. Does that make it Belgian? Might have been over here anyway.

Yes… seeing that large face building above the frontage going across at right angles shouts Gatwick to me.

I’d put money on Gatwick

Could it be South Terminal at London Gatwick?

There’s grass at Heathrow! Ah, but I see your point. It’s too green, isn’t it?

More seriously, I can’t identify the airport (if indeed it is an airport, not simply a convenient location). ‘World Wind Tours’ was probably made up for the movie, but there was a Canadian airline called World Wide Airways. IIRC they used a similar shade of green for their logo. Maybe there’s a tie up in there somewhere?

It doesn’t look like any part of 1960s Heathrow I remember and as previously observed the LH drive coaches would confirm it is not the UK.

Does not look like Heathrow. Left hand drive coaches and foreign plates, possibly Canada?
